But where does the maintenance process itself take place and what are the options available to the customer?
On-site maintenance as the fastest and most common solution
In most cases, the maintenance of heat exchangers directly on the spot. This ensures minimal downtime, as there is no need for transport or relocation, and work can begin immediately, tailored to the specific circumstances.It is important to emphasise the essential need for access to water and electricity, as well as the significant space requirements, which ideally should be available in the immediate vicinity of the heat exchanger.
Our experts arrive with all the necessary tools and equipment, so dismantling, cleaning, inspection and assembly can be carried out on site. If required, the maintenance will end with a pressure test, which will be recorded by our colleagues on site.
In the case of on-site maintenance, the process is fully adapted to the specific equipment and environment. The technicians take into account the plant's operation, the accessibility of the unit and any safety requirements, to ensure that the work is carried out quickly and without accidents.
Proper preparation of the maintenance procedure is essential. This includes shutting down the system, as well as disconnecting and draining the heat exchanger. It is important to emphasize this, as the customer is most familiar with the operation of their own system, including any potential faults or weaknesses. Therefore, it is in the best interest of both parties for the customer to carry out these preparatory tasks.
Maintenance at our workshop – where circumstances warrant it
There are situations where, for example, there is not enough space to acid-clean the heat exchanger; in such cases, it is more practical to transport the heat exchanger to our workshop in Dunaújváros.
This is particularly recommended in the following cases:
- if it requires a special cleaning process, e.g. prolonged soaking in chemicals, acid treatment
- if a more extensive and thorough assessment is required,
- or if the on-site environment is not suitable for working safely,
- Production is significantly disrupted by maintenance work.
The client may deliver the equipment to our premises themselves, but, as we manage the entire process in-house, we are of course also happy to undertake the unpacking and collection.
Maintenance in the workshop offers several advantages that can make work more efficient and thorough. In such an environment, it is possible to use specialized equipment and technologies that are not available on-site, or only to a limited extent. Heat exchanger components can also undergo more detailed inspection, including precise assessments of the condition of plates, tubes, and gaskets.
In addition, the workshop provides the opportunity to carry out necessary repairs and part replacements quickly and professionally. If worn or damaged parts are identified during maintenance, their replacement can begin immediately. At the end of the process, equipment testing—such as pressure testing—is also performed in the workshop.

On-site maintenance is ideal in all cases where rapid maintenance is required and no special procedures are needed. Maintenance carried out in the workshop, on the other hand, is the right choice when the aim is not only rapid fault rectification but also a comprehensive inspection, cleaning and refurbishment of the equipment.
